HISTORY. USES. ADVANTAGES.
The EB Extraction Blanket was invented by Captain Michael Ireland of the Springfield, Massachusetts Fire Department. It has gone through several renovations to arrive at the optimum usage, with changes carefully worked out by trial and error and suggestions from firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and a doctor.
Built around a simple mission - saving labor and saving lives - the blanket gives first responders a durable, reusable patient carrier for tight spaces, difficult stairways, and demanding emergency scenes.

FIELD USE
FROM TIGHT SPACES TO MASS CASUALTY RESPONSE.
The EB Extraction Blanket can be used to carry victims from tight spaces or down narrow or difficult stairways. If time permits, the patient can be strapped across the chest with the 4 inch Velcro strap, collared, and secured at the head and feet.
Built for Real Emergency Scenes
Multiple handles and durable construction allow single-responder or two-person lifts, and the blanket can support rapid movement during mass casualty incidents, earthquakes, floods, train derailments, and other difficult rescue environments.
Why the EB Is Different
Ten strategically placed handles, cross stitching for added strength, washable reusable construction, a 4 inch Velcro chest strap, and an ergonomic design help responders avoid awkward deadlifts and reduce back strain.
